General Question about iPad App

I wanted to know if there was an iPad app out there (on a jailbroken iPad or not) that allows you to run tasks/open apps at a certain time. For example, I would like to open the TMCable TV app in the morning so I can wake up to the news, instead of my annoying alarm clock. I know Android phones have this functionality through the app, Tasker, but I haven't come across anything that says you can do so on the iPad.
