I'm not that much older than you but i have learnt through bitter experience that you can't put all your time into your girlfriend, you gotta be able to have a good time without her! oh and be able to have a good time with out getting high as well.

We have a football game on Friday against a big school, and we are currently 11-0 and are 1-0 in teh state playoffs. If we win this game, we will most likely go to the championship game, because this is a tough team.
Anyways, I think I am just going to get high with my buddies while she is gone.

So your girlfriend isn't here for a weekend. Suck it up, man. I haven't seen my girlfriend for months. Jeez...

Koodauw said:You still riding the bench or did you get your starting QB job back?
MacAztec said:Honestly, I think being a backup QB is the hardest position. You have to prepare every single week as if you were going to play, but you aren't playing. It is hard to stay motivated, but I can handle it i guess.
Kwyjibo said:not once you make it to the NFL ... and I don't agree, I think any position where you get hit regularly and still have to play the mental game is tougher than any backup ...
macbaseball said:I would have to disagree. Being a backup is much harder than being a starter because you have to be mentally prepared to go in at anytime and pay attention to the nuances of the game, whereas when someone is a start it just come naturally. For example being a pitch hitter is much more difficult than being an everyday player, because a pitch-hitter has to take advantage of the one opportunity that comes his way, wheras an everyday player has 4 plate appearances to get a rhythm.
MacAztec said:Well, I have to disagree from experience. I started the first 3 games of our season, and did quite well. I threw for about 485 yards, 5TD, 2 INT. I threw the 2 INT in the second game, coach pulled me out, the other kid did amazing.
I lost my spot that game. Really sucks. Now, I know the importance of being ready to play, but it is hard to pay attention every week, know every play, and not get to play. Especially when I know I have the ability to start the game and win games.
