HaHa iTunes 500 million counter is screwed up!

    Check this out...i tried refreshing my page and it doesnt change...ww.Apple.com

    Well, it works fine on my computer. Someone refreshing their page will not affect Apple's "counter" because it's on their server. If they refresh their server, then we might see something.

    ok i think its fixed...before it said -19,570,476,399, and it was counting down.

    I see. I thought you meant it froze or something. Did you get a screenshot?

    The widget uses a different, less accurate (AFAICT) data source.

    The homepage counter is a fancy bit of JavaScript that is given a number and a rate, and works off of that until you reload when it's given another number and rate.

    It only uses ActiveX if nothing better is available :D
