Current MacBook Air overview.

MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011)
Processor 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Startup Disk Macintosh HD
Storage = 17.66 GB free of 120.11 GB

for the past year, I have been getting the spinning rainbow of death quite often.
So I finally decided that its time for an upgrade.
I bought the " Transcend JetDrive 500 480GB SATA III SSD Upgrade Kit for MacBook Air SSD (Late 2010-Mid2011) " from Amazon.

Then I follow the seemingly simple instruction video during 1:28 that's when the problem kicks in.

instead of getting "Restore process is complete"
I keep on getting "Restore Process has failed"

Even though I been using apple product for years..I'm without a doubt considering myself as just an end user.

I'm hoping the Macrumors Community can end my suffering here.

Thank you all in advance.

Try holding command-option-r at boot. You should see a screen to select your wifi then a spinning globe while the recovery screen downloads. Once that is done you should see the recovery screen. Now try using Disk Utility to do the restore.

step 1: Buy CarbonCopyCloner
step 2: Backup original Drive to new JetDrive
step 3: install new drive in the macbook air

CCC is an amazing utility and never failed me, its so simple and easy to use. I once tried to restore from the retarded TimeMachine it failed. Used CCC, issue free, and its faster than TimeMachine.
