I've had a iPod video 30GB for a year or so, and used it on my PC. I just bought a black MacBook, and want to use it on there from now on. I plugged it into the USB port, and the computer begins to charge it, but iTunes doesn't recognize it. I can't seem to find information on how to restore this iPod (I have the music saved on an external drive already) without using iTunes so that it will work on a Mac. Should I use Disk Utility somehow? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should check Disk Utility to see if the device shows up; if it does, you can format the drive as HFS+; then open iTunes and it should say the device needs to be restore, which you do and it should be back to defaults.
