I have an 80 gig video Ipod that was previously connected to a windows pc and synched with iTunes. I want to transfer all of my files (unprotected mp3's and some iTunes movies, home movies ) to a new MacBook. What is the easiest way to go about doing this?

From the PC or from the ipod?

i think you have to use restore on itunes when it detects your ipod and then it will erase all the files. just save all your files in your pc then use disk mode on the ipod and transfer all your files on your new macbook and add it all to ur library then sync
