Ok, here's the deal. I have a 30gb ipod 5g and an ipod touch 8gb. when i hook them onto my new macbook pro, it says "only macintosh formated ipods can be updated. So how do I format my ipod into macintosh? is it possible? thanks.

Restore to factory settings (Click on the iPod icon in iTunes when you insert the iPod) but back everything up that's on the iPod's with Sentui (I think that's correct, Google it).

hmm i think i did do that.. >< I plugged my ipod into my new mbp and updated my music. still says can't update ipod though.

I feel dumb I just started a thread about this same problem I'm having.

restoring to factory settings won't make it update on a Mac - it shipped from the Factory as a Windows-formatted iPod, restoring settings only puts it back to the way you bought it new.
