Changed the home folder location on my mini to an external HD.

Accidentally pulle the external HD out. Oops

Anyway put it back in and it recognised the drive all media in tact but didn't recognise it at home drive?

Checked in settings and it shows that it is still the home drive?

Anyway restarted and now I'm at a log in screen and can't log in :(

Help

Do you have any backup?
And if you get it resolved, create another admin account on the internal HDD, thus you can at least login and resolve issues like these, if it ever occurs again.
Can this help?

Yes but don't want to restore the entire machine .. Isn't there an easier method?

You need to login, thus I provided you with a link on how to create another user account without logging in. Or does that not work?

Phew all fixed .. your method whilst probably works was quite long.

I managed to boot to recover HD - use terminal to reset the password and create an admin account .. its now there forever, just in case ..
