Hotmail doesn't seem to be syncing between devices?

I use the stock email app on both my ipad and iphone, both on ios7. New messages come in on both, but do not register as read or deleted on the ipad once I get home for the day...

I know I know, who uses hotmail, lol. I've had the account for years though and there is a lot tied to it. I have gmail accounts also that don't have this problem.

Any help?

Configure using the Exchange protocol rather than crappy POP3:

- Hotmail Exchange ActiveSync server address: m.hotmail.com
- Hotmail Exchange ActiveSync domain: (leave empty)
- Hotmail Exchange ActiveSync user name: Your full Microsoft Hotmail address (e.g. me@hotmail.com)
- Hotmail Exchange ActiveSync password: Your Microsoft Hotmail password
- Hotmail Exchange ActiveSync TLS/SSL encryption required: yes
