Vancouver
I received an orange shuffle for my birthday last week and its great.
It partially replaces my 3G ipod. I live Vancouver it rains here alot, really alot. I like to carry the shuffle clipped to my hoodie pocket since I get easy access to the buttons but it leaves it exposed to abovementioned rain.
Are the shuffles up to this kind of abuse?

My 2G Shuffle has lasted through light rain... but that is all I have "tested" it in. I guess you could risk it, but you better have a good excuse for Apple is it breaks :p

If they ask.. u slipped and fell in a puddle, while dodging a car trying to help and elderly lady across the street.

Chances are the only thing in a Shuffle that will have a problem with water is the battery. Li-Ion batteries, in particular, like to stop working entirely when they soak up too much moisture/water.
