I just purchased a Macbook Pro 17" to replace my six months old Macbook Pro 15". I was at first a bit skeptical that the upgrade would be worth the extra cost, but after using the new machine for a couple of days, I can say it was an excellent move. Among the *really* nice new features,
+ A larger screen
+ A longer lasting battery
+ An extra USB port, and a FireWire 800 port
+ A larger hard disk
+ A double layer DVD R/W
There is also a slight increase in the CPU clock speed. All of this for a little bit more than what I origninally paid for the Macbook Pro 15". Amazingly, this larger machine still confortably fits in my backpack.
