At least it isn't as bad as the HTC One M8, I'm forever pressing the volume keys just picking that thing up. Buttons just shouldn't be central on the side of a phone.

I agree. Rather it be on top. With my case, you have to press harder and it makes you squeeze the volume buttons at the same time. Ugh!

I'm always turning it off when trying to take a pic using the volume button. I think I'd prefer it on top again.

On top please also useful when you're laying down and your phone is on your belly and you're using one hand to open it.. Or is it just me ...

I've had this problem as well. It's become less of an issue as I adjust to it, but I agree - aesthetically, it works great having it opposite the volume buttons, but it really makes for more of a learning curve.

Most of us have used iPhones for years, power on top is muscle memory.

Put it back on top.

Having the volume-UP and power-off buttons exactly opposite means that when you one-handedly try to squeeze one, you often get the other.

Terrible ergonomics. Can't believe Apple thought that was ok.

This. A thousand times, this.

I'm used to it for the most part. I would absolutely HATE to have the button on the top with a phone this big. It was on the top of my HTC One(M7) and it made it very difficult to use.

When I try pressing the top of my 6 just to see what it would be like on top, I either have to stretch my fingers in an uncomfortable way, or adjust my grip. I imagine this is even worse on a 6+.

Since my last phone was on the top I'm having to retrain myself. After 3 weeks, getting used to it.:)

I have a 6, and I too have pushed it by accident twice for the last few weeks while pushing the volume button.

But I prefer it on the side. Here are the reasons:

1) 2 times in a few weeks is hardly a problem.
2) I suspect it won't happen after a while when am used to it.
3) I like being able to push the power button with one hand on the phone. Had the power button remained at the top, there is no chance I can train my hand to become bigger to do that easily :)

I like it on the side, but its way too high up. At least a quarter of the way down the side would have been good. The Nexus 6 got the button location right.

It is 1/4 way down on the 6+. Any lower would get in the way and I would actually prefer it up top.

I was playing some iOS game (VainGlory, (Ringo hybrid build)) and I tried to raise the volume like halfway through a mission and I accidentally put force in a parallel way from the other side and closed my game out :(

How did it close your game out, Vainglory brings you back to the current game you are in , even if you close and quit the app

Trust me, it's almost impossible to reach the top of your device to lock/unlock it.

Look at the HTC One line - the buttons are on the top and its impossible to reach.

In addition on the Nexus 6 it's impossible to reach because it's so high up.

It's really not that hard to know what side the button is on. If you feel one or two, or if you feel the mute switch or not.

It especially needs to move down on the 6 Plus. The whole point is to make it so you don't have to shift your grip, but it's the same distance from the top on both the 6 and 6 Plus. You still have to shift the grip on the Plus.
