After I insert a DVD- Movie into my iBook (G3 bought in June)
it ejects it about 10 seconds later..... I tried other discs, but they do much the same!!!

Only on DVD Videos, not CD-R's or Cd's

You might not have a drive capable of reading DVDs, as not all of the models from last year could. Go to Apple menu->About this Mac, click on 'More Info...'. On the left expand 'Hardware' if necessary, click on 'ATA' and look for your drive listed there. Once selected, look what it says by 'Drive Type'. If it says 'CD-ROM' or similar, then you don't have a DVD drive.

if it is rejecting all media then ya your drive is gone. did you still have warranty left if not they aren't cheap.

are they store bought dvd's or something someone burned, either way if its not reading a good -r media the drive would be faulty
