Installing something twice

I play a game that many love and many DISPISE. World of warcraft =]
Anywho I enjoy playing on official servers, but I wanna play hacked servers with my freinds as well [The question has nothing to do with the game]

I wanna install the same game, A SECOND time.
Thus making it so I have the same game on my HD twice, with modified files in one and official files in the other, and using a diffrent version of the game On one then the other.

So to sum it up
I wanna install something a second time, without replacing, or overwriting the original, On a mac.

Thus making 2 versions of the same game on one computer

Possibly making it so you have to rename the original file or somethign to switch wouldnt be a big deal if its possible to do that?

I'm not sure if you can do this but possibly try installing the game to an external HD.

I dont see why it couldnt, Possibly with directory renaming thus making it not overwrite my existing.

I just need input, I dont wanna screw up the original, cause it will take like a lifetime to reinstall o_o
