Just ran across this article on PC Magazine's website, dated March 11, 2003. It gives a few details about Intel's new mobile platform, now officially known as Centrino. Looks like they're integrating 802.11a as well as 802.11b. The chip underwent what looks like a pretty hefty redesign, too. It starts out at 1.4, but has a much shorter pipeline and a larger cache than the P4-M. The article claims that performance will be in line with the 2,4 GHz P4-M. Very interesting. I'll be watching to see how Intel explains that one to a megahertz obsessed public that it helped to create.

dated March 11, and you just ran accross it? is that date a typo or something?

anyway, that will be interesting to see. either way, i'm sure Apple will keep up, or most probably ahead of the race to extend battery life.
