internal dvd-r bootable?

Hi, I am interested in buying a Lacie internal dvd burner(300678) for my B&W g4 400. It is cheaper than the external and would replace my slow/cranky (old) DVD Rom drive that came with the machine. I was told by a salesperson today that it might not allow me to boot from a disc if I were to switch out my old dvd rom drive. Anybody know definitively? Any advice in regards to this burner would be appreciated.

No information at that site that addresses my question

I had done some research there (at accelerate your mac) before I posted at Mac rumours and had found nothing that addressed the issue of boot disk compatability. Thanks anyway.
