The differece between regular 14 and 12 128gb is like $150 which is small % of total price, look like the reason of 12/13 in Apple site is just forcing you to buy 14. No more cheap 6.1 inch monitor like IP 11 option anymore.
That’s what I’m trying to decide. I have a 12 pro. My wife has an X but the screen is cracked and it’s the second time. She needs a new phone but doesn’t want a new phone because she doesn’t trust herself. So option is I upgrade to a 14 pro and she gets my 12 pro. Or I get her an 11 off apple refurb. She would get 256GB + apple care. So still comes to 650. I don’t need the 14, but do I like to upgrade, sure. Almost feel like it makes more sense to just get the 14, she gets 12 and we should both be set for a few years.Perhaps people who look for value, don't care if phone has 64gb or 128gb, otherwise, they would not be bargain shopping new phones and instead, they would look at refurbs or used market.
If you compare base iP12 and base iP14 the difference is $230, but if you add tax, which most would need to pay, you are looking at $250. that is a decent chunk of money.
if you really want cheap options, apple sells iP11 refurbs - 64gb costs only $379 and 128gb - $429. I got one of these for my uncle who upgraded from iP8+
I don't think you understand the meaning of "forcing you". I'm pretty sure it's illegal for Apple to force you to do anything like this. Perhaps they are making one product more attractive to buy but no one can or should force you to buy it. You can just not buy it.The differece between regular 14 and 12 128gb is like $150 which is small % of total price, look like the reason of 12/13 in Apple site is just forcing you to buy 14. Maybe they are going to buy the 64 GB base model 12 that isn't available on the 13? At $599 it's $100 cheaper than the 13 and $200 cheaper than the 14.128gb 13 is just $50 more than 12, is this a joke, who is going to buy 12
No one is forcing me to buy anything I don't want to. Not even the sales rep at the T-Mobile store in February 2021 who wanted to sell me an iPhone 12 Pro Max which I did not want.
I walked out with the 11 Pro Max I did want because that's what I was there for.
It's your money - don't let others tell you how to spend it.
