IPad 12.9 M1 which software update 16.7.2 or OS 17?

I have a choice but not sure which one to choose. I don’t need any headaches right now. Your honest opinions would be greatly appreciated presently I’m on OS16.6 my iPhone 12 Pro Max is also on iOS 16.6.

I have 17.1 on M1 12.9, 14PM, and cellular Mini 6 - no issues for me.

Im staying on 16 as long as I can...Don't really see any advantage of going to 17
