Hello,

A few months ago I was away from home without my charger and the only way I had to charge my phone was with a non-Apple charger. I kept getting a "device not supported" message but the phone would still charge. When I returned home my iPhone 4 would only charge up from my Mac and will no longer charge from a wall socket.

The iPhone has been charged or used for most of the summer. The problem persists and I have tried a full restore "as a new phone", but it still will not charge.

The Apple USB cable and charger are new.

Can anyone help?

Cheers.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner but been crazy busy.

Possible bad new charger.

Have you tried other Apple chargers AND cables since then?

It turns out it was the socket itself, not the equipment.

I didn't have any other cable or chargers to test so up until I could buy one. Woke up the following morning with the notion to test it on a different socket - no idea where I got the idea from. :)

Thanks for the helps, chaps. ;)
