Does anyone know if it is possible to plug a Mac formatted iPod into a PC USB port for battery charging purposes only? Also, I'm going to Thailand and I am wondering if it is safe to plug my iPod into a computer's USB port while there for battery charging. Is there going to be a power conversion issue or will that be handled by the computer itself?

Yes you can do it - just make sure that you click no when it flashes up the prompt "the iPod x is linked to another computer - do you want to change the association?"
The computer will handle the conversion.
