Well, judging by the pics on the apple website, the back appears to be the same, but I haven't been to see them in person so I wouldn't know. The bottom line for me... I'm spending all this money on the Classic, I'm protecting it regardless of whether it's "easily" scratched or not, because it's a beautiful product and bottom line is that is CAN be scratched. So yes, I would protect it. I've already ordered my Invisible Shield and it's in the mail for me. Now to get my Classic and Shuffle!!! Cheers!
