Ok, so here is the problem:

Whenever I play music on my iPod, I occasionally get a very loud "KHHHH" sound, like you get when get when you have bad cellular reception. It is quite random, and sometimes it can block the whole song out, and sometimes it just disappears for a long time.

I know it's not a problem with the headphones because I tried 4 different pairs of Apple and non-Apple headphones. It also strikes all my music, including iTunes downloads, CD rips, and "questionable" downloads, so its not a problem with the music files. I restored the software on it with the latest 06/26 version, but the problem persists, so it can't really be a problem with the firmware. That only leaves it to be a hardware problem.

Anyone ever had this problem before? Can you suggest a way of fixing it?

Thanks in advance for all help!
