I know no one really has one yet, but am I the only one to think the 2G cases would fit the updated iPods? I need to replace my recently-sold 1G and I'm considering picking up the 2G version of the Contour Showcase when I go get it.

I'm in the same boat as you are pal. If I can I'd really like to get a Switcheasy or Speck case for it. But I think you can use a 2G case for an iPod Touch 3G since they have the same dimensions (according to Wikipedia). Can anyone recommend me a really rad case for an iPod Touch 2G/3G? I'm thinking of getting a Celestial Rebeltouch or a Candyshell from Speck (once they allow more color combos)

Interesting. Since this "new" generation has the same form-factor, the same cases have already been out a year, and thus should be much cheaper. Good for the consumer!
