I have an iPod 5th generation with video the one with the red click wheel to promote product red.

When inserting into the usb port on my 2013 macbook pro retina I have been getting a bubble in the top right corner saying "please unplug device to renable usb devices."

I was able to add songs to it just last week so I was wondering why this wasn't working now. Can this only be done if on AC adapter?

thanks
Sarah

I don't know about that issue but you may want to look into upgrading your hard drive to a bigger drive and flash based.

A lot of times when that happens, it means the cable needs replacing. But it'll go away with a restart sometimes too. Did you update your iTunes the other day by chance?

Thanks Jessica. I don't recall doing any updates. I did get a new 30 pin connector but it doesnt fit for my iPod 5th Gen. Ill try the restart and the old cable again.
