As the title states, it was working a week ago on my laptop and my other computers then it decided to stop working one day. I tried doing everything except erasing the whole thing because I have WAY too much music on there to do that. I ran a disk utility on it and this error message came up. Please advise.

Verifying volume “Chris' iPod”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Invalid node structure
The volume Chris' iPod needs to be repaired.

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit

Disk Utility stopped verifying “Chris' iPod” because the following error was encountered:

The underlying task reported failure on exit
1 HFS volume checked
Volume needs repair

PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!! :D

Ipod problem

Did you try the restart by pressing the center button and the top of the circle? Sometimes it needs a good reset. Make sure its fully charged also sometimes they get goofy when you dont.

Assuming all of your music is also in iTunes as it should be, erasing it is no big deal. Use iPod updater and run a restore.
