Based on the "night and day" reports like those in this thread, I've suspected that my watch might be a little weak in the haptic alert department, but switching to Prominent Haptic certainly made a difference. I never miss a text message alert now, so that's all that matters.

UPDATE: Apple changed my Watch!

I took it to the Apple store after work this evening and explained that I thought the haptic motor was faulty. The specialist tried it and he said he could feel a difference between the middle and extreme right settings, although he agreed the difference was not great.

I noticed he was wearing a Space Gray Sport the same as mine - lol so I asked him to compare the two, and I asked if I could see how the haptic felt on his watch. There was definitely a difference on his, and he agreed - but he then said that he didn't think they had any more in stock. :(

So I said "Errrm - I actually reserved one earlier today just in case!" :D Boom! Replacement Apple Watch. I made sure to open and try it there and then and, yes, the haptic feedback on the new Watch was much better than my original one.

The fella is now a happy bunny :)

I was all excited when I got my 2nd watch with a strong haptic motor.

Hate to say but after a week it cr^pped out and the AW is on it's way back to Apple.

Ouch! Seems like these haptic motors are currently a weak spot for the Apple Watch. There appears to be so much variation and I've heard so many stories about them failing after a while.

Good luck with your 3rd Watch! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my replacement.

Fella.

After two I am not sure if I will try another. Right now I am really enjoying hearing my 6+ notify me of messages and it sounds great!
