Hi all.

I was offered a nearly top Mac mini late 2014 with Core i7 3GHz, 16GB RAM, 512GB PCI-E SSD without any peripherals (new costs 1699 $). Mac mini is produced in December 2014, used since January 2015, perfect condition. SSD has not been stressfully worn out but still was used quite constantly.

The deal is 950 $. Is this a good deal? Please share your thoughts and insights.

Thank you!

UPDATE: Removed Samsung 850 Pro 512GB from the post. It's no longer a part of the deal. :(

I would say it's a good deal. Similar config (but with 8GB RAM and only 512GB PCIe SSD) is $1269 in the refurb store, so $300 discount with extra RAM and SSD sounds fair.

However refurb has warranty and is as new while this one is 1.5 year used.

This is an excellent deal. For what it's worth, in polls of Apple hardware reliability, the mini always gets top marks. There are plenty of people on this forum, myself included, who run minis 24/7 and have done so for years with no issues; that's not to say that having a warranty isn't nice, or that you will absolutely never need it, but it does offer some peace of mind. I would go for it in a heartbeat :)

Over the last three(3) years I have bought two(2) Refurbished MM's from the Apple On-line Store with Applecare. I personally would not buy this Used MM as it does not have the Applecare Purchase Plan Option.
