I came across this webpage and found this very interesting to me.

Rumor: Apple TV to put OS X desktop on your HDTV

from: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-9681697-1.html

I currently do not have an LCD w/DVI or HDMI or VGA inputs.

I am using a SOny 36" CRT that is HD ready up to 1080i via component video.

So this would allow me to better connect my MacBook Pro to my TV.

Can anyone confirm if this has come to fruition.

Pretty good idea...but wouldnt it be like a Mini? I mean...if they make it OS X then its just a Mac and not a AppleTV.

That article is a Year 1/2 old, so don't count on it. I assume Apple may integrate Safari and possibly some other features, but not a full OSX interface. Now that Apple has given us Apple Remote for iPhone, we now have a keyboard interface for ATV (as proven by the YouTube keyboard).
