Just wondering if there are any apps out there that capture an image from the iSight, particularly with a timer/delay (5 sec or so) built in after you press capture?

    Thanks!

I don't know about the delay part, but iMovie comes to mind. :)

Are you talking about a still or video image? A still is just like a screen capture - Command/Shift/3. If you want to capture video there are many free or shareware programs.

I found this on the MacDevCenter site:

You can use the iSight with QuickTime Broadcaster (a free download) and an AppleScript to easily record audio/video and save it to your hard drive as a QuickTime file.

Just copy the code for the "Setup for Video to Disk Recording," script, paste it in your Script Editor, enter your parameters, and save it.

When you run the script, the iSight will record the a/v then save it as a QT file on your drive. From that point, you can do anything you want with it.

    Quicktime Broadcaster: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/broadcaster/

    Script: http://www.apple.com/applescript/bluetooth/qtbroadcaster.html

There is also a handy little widget I got from the apple site that looks like a little digital camera, and when you activate dashboard>click on the widget, it automatically takes a quick pic of whatever is in front of the iSight.

I forget the name of the widget, dig around on the apple widget site, or google it.

    if you want.
