According to Apple's Online Store, all iSight shipments in the US have been delayed until October.

That being the case, it would seem promising that it is either getting an update in the near future, another product is getting an update and Apple needs all avaliable iSight image sensors avaliable (maybe Cinema Displays?), or they are being discontinued entirely due to their inclusion in every new Mac.
