Logic Pro 8? When!?

I'm thinking about buying Logic Pro 7 with the student discount but i'm really afraid that Logic Pro 8 is going to come out shortly after i buy it. Especially because there hasn't been a major update in a year or so. Can anyone tell me the odds of an update? Any info on emagic being mad at apple? I know that no one is a fortune teller but any info to put some pieces together could help in pointing me in the right direction.

I've been keeping my ear to the ground...or Boards as it were....for Logic 8 for a long time...and there hasn't even been a rumor of a rumor...

Get 7, upgrade it to 7.1 or 7.2 and feel good about it...

I don't anticipate 8 any time soon. But, I'm no expert...

yeah, i guess there would be rumors all over the place if there was going to be an update. Thanks for the reply and goodluck with your macbook savings! even a macbook that ONLY ran windows would be better than smoking!
