Easy question, does the docking station (charger) have bluetooth in it? Or do I need to buy a D-link BT adapter?

(I no, this is probably a really dumb question... but oh well  )

It doesn't have bluetooth, when its connected to a computer it acts like RF receiver

Unless I'm thoroughly wrong here, the MX900 does have bluetooth built into the charger, but it's locked or something so it won't connect to other bluetooth devices...at least on my Mac I haven't been able to get it to. Therefore, I just use the base for charging, and pair the mouse with my bluetooth dongle.

Yes, the charger is also a Bluetooth hub. You can connect your BT phone, BT headphones and everything BT to your computer through the charger.

The catch? That feature only works on Windows.

So in your context, it's nothing but a charger, and you need a separate dongle to get the MX900 to work with a Mac.
