Hi all
I have both of these for the Ipad Air 1. I like the extra protection of the Type + when I'm on the move but the keyboard is horrible, imo. However, I really like the keyboard on the Ultrathin.

I know there have been some updates for the Air 2 modules. Has the Type + keyboard been improved? Other key differences between the Air and Air 2 modules?

I posted reviews of both the Logitech Ultrathin for iPad Air 2, Logitech Type+ for iPad Air 2, and even the ZAGG Slim Book for iPad Air 2 in these threads:

The keyboards on the Ultrathin and Type+ are, as far as I can tell, identical, and near-perfect in my opinion. They're as good as keyboards get for iPad accesories. The Type+ has a slightly wider layout with the addition of an extra "cntrl" annd "alt/option" key in the bottom-last row. The Ultrathin excludes these to make room for a pair of rubber stoppers at each end.

The Ultrathin would be my top choice if it weren't the glass screen protector on my iPad Air 2 preventing proper and secure fit into the magnetic groove. The Type+ is still a comfortable and sleek choice. The keys on both provide just the right amount of spacing and travel for fast and light typing. Avoid the ZAGG at all costs. The plastic case portion for the iPad is incredible brittle and prone to scuffing the chamfered edges of the iPad. The keys on the ZAGG, while backlit, are a hair too shallow and smaller, requiring firmer keystrokes.
