So I am looking to start a Podcast for a small blog I have started up recently. It will mainly be solo at the moment so I am trying to figure out what I will need. I have bookmarked about 20 or so different sites because all of them had great information... But all seemed focused on multiple people speaking which had much more expensive equipment (which may or may not be useful info down the line) or they were a bit dated.

As of right now I have a fully upgraded (well as much as you can via Apple's website) Mid 2012 MBP. I was thinking of using Garageband.. But I have heard that their have been changes to it that make Podcasting on it not as smooth as it used to be. Any software recommendations for the recording aspect that may be better than Garageband?

As for hardware, I didn't want to splurge too much for just starting out, since I don't know if this is something that I will want to continue or just make it a bit of a hobby...

This seem like a good deal:

I have also heard this is a good mid end mic, though for the price of the bundle it makes me skeptical:

I don't think I will need any mixers at the moment, as it will be a solo podcast to start with...

And finally, media host... What are some recommendations? LibSyn seems great and highly recommended. Amazons pricing system seems a bit absurd >_>;

Is there anything you can recommend that I may need other than what is listed above?
