Previously, the M1 & M2 Macbook Airs were unable to run the Apple Studio Display at the highest "native" scaled resolution. They supported up to 2880x1620 whereas an Pro+ chip supported 3200x1800 on the same display.

Does anyone know if the new M3 Macbook Airs and M3 Macbook Pros support the 3200x1800 resolution?

Thanks!

So, clarity here.

The Apple Studio Display, depending on the Mac it is connected to, will have two different max scaled resolutions. You can see an example of a user working with this on stackexchange.

As examples, I took two pictures of an Apple Studio display I have access to. One is connected to a M1 Pro MacBook Pro, the second is the same screen connected to an M2 Macbook Air. What I'm hoping is that the M3 Macbook Air supports the higher resolution.

When in the Settings > Displays panel, select the "Advanced" button. In the "Advanced" panel, enable "Show resolutions as list". Back in the Display panel, enable "Show all resolutions". What resolutions do you see?

I can grab screenshots later, but it does not include the desired 3200x1800 in the full list. I was able to force it via `screenresolution` command on the M2 Macbook but it was very blurry and clearly not tuned for HiDPI in that forced mode.

I accept that this does not work on the M2 Macbook without shenanigans, what I'm wondering is if the M3 chip (non Pro/Max) have the same limitation.
