I love the new menu bar now that Apple has made it more opaque. Now it is much more readable and looks slick, especially when there's an ever-so-slight blur going on with the detail behind it. I've gone from Leopard menu bar sceptic to advocate! :)

Bring on October! :D

Ditto on the menu bar. I like it. Not to sound reductionist, but it reminds me of Ubuntu (second best OS out there, imo).

I do miss the rounded edges on the menu-bar though. The rounded edges are one of the key little visual cues that remind me I'm on a mac. Hope they bring those back.

I like the new brighter colored traffic lights, but they don't seem to be "embedded" in the window frame. Rather, they seem to be sort of pasted-atop. Hope those get polishing.

I don't hate the little blue lights that indicate a running application nearly as much as others. I welcome the change, although the triangles do a better job of clearly indicating what's open and what's not.

Have fun with it.

Awful, awful desktop pic

Yea, it's looking better each time. I just still don't get the menu bar and the new desktop picture isn't very 'apple'.
I think pretty much everyone agrees on this. Apple should be embarrassed. What were they thinking?

I'd encourage anyone who thinks the Leopard default is cheesy to go to http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/ and tell them that.

I did so and recommended they choose a pic from:
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html
where there are a ton of awesome space pics.

Don't you think one of these would be a million times better?

WOW! This one: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0512/m31_gendler_Nmosaic1.jpg is pure awesomeness. :p I really like it, thanks. The fact that it's real makes it even cooler.

BTW: I'm 99% sure Apple's is not real.

I can't agree more about the rounded menu bar. The top corners of all windows are rounded so it only makes sense for the top corners of the main screen be rounded as well. Hopefully the guys/gals in Cupertino realize this and fix it.
