Rumors say that the new iBooks will be about 200 dollars cheaper from what i heard. Im not sure if that is the truth, but it wouldnt make sense for apple to offer a 800 dollar laptop and a 2000 dollar laptop. Theres too big of a difference in price. I would imagine them having 3 laptop models.
iBook- affordable, simple, but fast and reliable
the a MacBook - higher performance, speed, goodies, look, etc.
then the MacBook Pro

It wouldnt seem likely for them to just have you either have a 800 dollar laptop then 2000. The fill in would just be a MacBook 1000-2000 price. and still keep the iBooks for the affordability and the competiotion between the dell 600 dollar laptops.

the 12"/17" macbook pro's are not out yet, the 12/13" fills that gap.

The new iBooks aren't going to have Core Duos. They'll just have standard Pentium M chips.

No they'll have single core Yonah. OSX makes use of features dothan lacks.
