Anyone set there Firmware password up and noticed that they can still get into Single User mode without any authentication?

Just curious on why it doesn't ask you for a password before letting you look at any of your data...

It may be related to the fact that the way to override the OF password on other Macs is to add/remove RAM. Since that obviously isn't an option on the Air, I guess Apple decided to leave SU mode open in case you forget the OF password.

I think there may have been some serious demons in 10.5.2

It may be related to your thing because you have to authenticate..

Notice how a lot of files have ACL error in disk utility when you go to repair permisions. This is on all my computers after updating to 10.5.2

I think it changes root permisions on these files and it may be the reason you have to now authenticate.

Try repairing permisions in disk utility and see if you get the ACL error.
