so I have a mid 2013 MBP and I recently installed El Capitan security update. It caused my computer to constantly restart. I wiped my drive and downloaded mavericks again. Now my computer won't stay on. I press the power button and it will start up and then shut down. I have tried safe mode and the only way it will stay on is if I hold down the shift key continually. When I let off shift it shuts down. I looked in verbose mode and saw this as the last thing on the screen before it shut down on me.

BootCacheControl: unable to open /var/db/BootCaches/preheateduser/merged.playlist:2 no such file or directory

Anyone have any experience or can help me? Taking it to Genius Bar isn't an option.
