any idea approx. how much time between chargings i'll lose to up my MB2.0 C2D from 1Gb to 2Gb?

and, if there's a difference, will it make any difference which brand chips are more energy pinching?

and i'll drop in a 7200HDD. any preferences -- Momentus/Travelstar?
i've heard noises are a problem in the Travelstar and heat is a problem with Momentus.

I don't know about what hard drive to get but I can pretty safely say that adding more RAM won't really affect your battery time. If you need the RAM and it is helping to avoid constant writing to the hard drive via Virtual Memory, then more RAM may actually improve your battery uptime. Also, it doesn't matter which brand you get in terms of power management, but make sure they support Apple and would be willing to replace your stick if it doesn't work. :)
