I know there is a solution to this problem; however, the last time I fixed it was a couple months ago, and I no longer know where I found the fix, and I don't remember how I did it.
Anyways, when I log into Microsoft Word or Excel 2004 sometimes, it says that my product key is being used by someone else in the network. However, my copy is completely legit (bought from the campus computer store last year, in fact).
I don't really want to go through a ton of trouble, calling up the campus IT services or asking for a new CD. If I remember right, there's a simple way to fix things, just by blocking the couple ports that MS Office uses to search the network for duplicate product keys.
Anyone know which ports I'm supposed to block? And, how do I block a port?
