Short segment, but, the MPAA is considering giving rewards to people who spot other people with camcorders in movie theatres. I'd be interested in seeing if this comes through, and if it does, if it is successful. We shall see...

I'm not endorsing movie piracy, but, really, given the latest cameras, it'd be pretty hard to notice, especially if someone decided to "shoot" the thing in a few segments, so as not to be seen shooting the entire film at one time.

It's a good idea, but I think that most people would be in the theater to watch, not to look for pirates. And, as far as I know, pirates don't generally shoot the films during peak periods.

I think they should also offer rewards for online piracy spotting. But I guess they want to try and nip it in the bud so they don't have to pay tons of rewards once the bootleg hits the internet. :p
