I was wondering as to whether the Notes on my iPhone should be automatically sync'ing to Notes on my iMac, now that I have Mountain Lion installed?

I was wondering the same but then I found out it only works with an @me account.
I guess we're doomed.

They sync to my iPad . . Don't have an iPhone.

Yes they sync over iCloud. Just make sure you put the notes on iCloud in notes and not "On My Mac."
