The best way I can describe this case is...

It's like the original 1st Gen iPad Case but instead of Sliding the iPad into the case it snaps in. Like the SmartCover it has a Sleep/Wake function. Made of the exact same material that the Poly SmartCovers are made of.

Thanks for the pics! Will definitely be getting this as I really liked the Apple's iPad 1 case. The search is finally over.
Did you see the red one? Was it bright? Flashy?

Funny thing, the Apple Store that I purchased this case did not stock them on the shelves. I had to ask if they had them in stock. So I was unable to see the other colors.

Great photos.

Questions:

1. How exactly does the iPad fit into the back shell?

2. What material is the back shell made from?

3. Do the standing and typing positions stay securely positioned?

4. In your 9th photo it seems like the metal bezel around the lower screen is visible. Is the fit poor or was it simply not completely snapped in place?

Thank you!

1. Snaps in like a snap cover

2. Made of the same material that the Poly SmartCovers are made of.

3. Very secure just like a SmartCover

4. It that picture, my iPad was not seated all the way. The fit so far is fine.

What is the hinge like? Is it metal like the old smart cover or is it the same material as the rest of the cover?

Someone else said that the magnet is not strong enough to hold the cover closed when holding the ipad upside down. Do you have the same problem?

Thank you. I'm having a hard time grasping how the iPad snaps into this. Are you saying the back shell is not a hard shell but rather is made from polyurethane and is soft? So snapping it in really means stretching the poly frame over the edges of the iPad?

It's not a metal hinge.

Cover holds just fine.

It a soft shell similar to the original gen 1 iPad. It has a rigid frame that just gives just enough to let you snap an iPad in.

I had wondered about the hinge as well, I though the would be not as nice as the smart cover hinge. You think its fine though?

Glad to hear the cover holds shut with the magnets too. Thanks for the info. I guess a trip to the Apple Store is now added to my ToDo list.

In this case, it works better without a metal hinge.

Could you possibly shoot a video of this case and upload it to Youtube? There aren't any videos of it available yet, you'd be the first. :)

How thick is the back? It looks less than 1mm or so, like the original iPad case - it would stop scratches:, but no bump protection. That true here as well? And will it let the Camera Connrctor fit?

I think Apple is just too late to market with this product.

It looks cheap, and not very protective.

There are so many better options. Like my $9 TPU case and my LEATHER smary cover.

Looks "unexciting" but that's ok...

Apple warranty
Good hinge
Good quality
Decent price, not great but decent.....
Acceptable colors

How can so many have questions?

I think I like to have my cover/smart feather detachable......
