Im looking for a MBA to use mainly for browsing the web and other basic tasks.

    I found the 2 following local deals and please help and let me know which one is better;

    1- Latest Model 11" MD223LL/A
1.7 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 2.6GHz, 4GB memory, 64GB flash storage1, Intel HD Graphics 4000

    Brand new for $700

    2-2011 Model 13" MC965LL/A
    1.7 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor
    4GB DDR3 RAM
    128GB Solid-State Hard Drive

    Brand new for $750

    Which one??????????

Easy. Always get the most memory you can afford on an Air, it is not later upgradable. +$50 for doubling the size of the SSD is a good investment, I always get teh largest capacity storage space I can manage. I will fill it.

    I think he's wondering what the best deal is, 700$ new 11'' or 750$ 2011 13''

get the newer model 11" if you think you can get by with only 64gb's of local storage.

If the other tasks are really basic, then either one will be fine with the following 2 points considered:
    1. Is the 11" screen large enough? This includes the resolution of the screen.
    2. Will 64GB of disk be enough for what you want to use the system for?

when i look at the 11" screen i honestly dont see much of a difference compare to the 13" screen.

64gb will be enough as I dont plan to add any media or software to it, I have my MBPR for that.

Im interested a little more on the 11" because its smaller, newer, and has better graphics.

I believe the 2011 is Sandy bridge? with intel 3000 right?

Sounds like the 11" it is for you.

While I prefer a higher resolution screen (not necessarily bigger physically) for opening multiple windows, the 13" is like too wide to me, it's even wider than the rMBP 13" I hear.

The SSD can be upgraded later.

yeah i am leaning towards the 11" as it will be somewhat more of a differences compare to my 15" Retina, plus its newer technology.

the SSD can be upgraded as you mention, although I dont think I will need to.

The 13" MBA is indeed wider than the 13" RMBP

Me personally, I would get the 11" MBA. The 64GB SSD is really small, but if all you do is surf the net and other simple tasks then the SSD will be plenty.

    I would go with 13"

same ram, same processor in both. A larger disk size will come handy if you plan to keep the computer for long and store pics and music (plenty of space in the extra 64Gig).
Also battery life in the 13" should be significantly better.
If the 50$ difference is not a deal breaker then I would advice the 13"

Not the same processor. Sandy Bridge with HD 3000 in the 13", while 4000 and Ivy in the 11. 60% better graphics with the 11" (up to) and 10-15% faster CPU.

If u just read the numbers above.

The rest of us knows a 2012 vs a 2011 has overall 20% more horsepower due to chipset difference, better graphic processor, and the ram runs 1600 vs 2011's 1333. AND a USB3 if one cares.

Also if the OP wants to upgrade the SSD in the 11", OWC sells a 120GB SSD for the 2012 MBA for under $200.

My apologies Sir! It was my feeling the OP was stressing disk/ amount of RAM/ screen size and price.... My bad! Big mistake!:D

yea come to realize it, the 2012 11" is better than the 2011 13"
I know the 13 has a bigger SSD but that wont be an issue, and if it does it can be replace easily
