Hello,

i recently recieved my powerbook and today i am attempting to copy a friend's DVD to the harddrive during a free period at school.

The procedure I used was to wait for the disc to appear on the desktop and then I pressed ctl click and then copy.
It says it is copying about 7.3G and will take about an hour.

Is it going to work and will i be able to play the movie when it does finish? Or am I wasting my time?

Cheers,

OryHara

if it's a commercial DVD, and it seems it is if it's 7.3GB, then you are... if you use a freeware app such as DVDBackup to decode the DVD and copy if over... that way, you'll be able to use Apple's own DVD Player and choose File --> Open Video_TS Folder... then navigate to the folder...

good luck,
reality
