Hello maul1999. Are the QT files stored on your internal hard drive or an external hard drive?
If it says searching for media, then iTunes can't find the files.
I have some QT files on an external hd and I opened them in iTunes to make a playlist. It worked for me. Some more info from you is needed to solve the problem. Post when you can.
