Really liking the new classic buckle strap. Much thicker and more substantial than the old one. Looks and feels more like a leather band than a semi-leather band like the old one. New black one delivered yesterday.

I bought the old one also so I've paid the price. ;)

One interesting comment on the 42mm. I have small wrists and the band doesn't fit as small a wrist on before. On the old band, I would be on the third hole. On the new one I'm on the second hole and it's a little loose. I can even put it on the first hole and it's a little tight but can be easily used. So if you have smaller wrists the new band on the 42 isn't as flexible. I looked up the sizing guide and sure enough the 42 has different sizing dimensions now. The 38mm looks about the same.

How do you tell the difference. I'm thinking of buying a stainless Apple Watch with classic buckle strap soon. Are the ones in the store with new watches the old or new?

I may have to think about moving up on my next watch. Currently Space Gray and sport bands meet my needs but I'm thinking I would like to keep my current watch and later (V2) invest in stainless with a band like this one for a nicer overall watch. Nice photos, thanks for sharing.

The old one was black inside and out. The new one is black outside with brown inside or brown inside and out.

I've been to all three of my local stores and they don't have any straps or watches with straps. Apple store online has the watches with straps in stock but straps showing anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks delay depending on which one you get.

I mean inside the display table. Even if they don't stock them, they should have display models (at least in the US).

I just got a new Apple Watch today with saddle brown strap. Very comfortable but the darker brown that runs along the top and bottom of the strap is already wearing off.

Can you provide pics? I was thinking about buying the Saddle Brown Classic band but I think I'm just gonna NETFLIX and chill with my Milanese and Sports bands.

Does it mean heavier?
Did you weight and compare both?

One thing I like about old CB is at 19g, it is less than 2/3 of weight of next Apple OEM band Leather loop.
It feel like nothing on the wrist.

For a substantial CB, I would prefer any hand made custom 3rd party band, RHD deployant, and CB adapter.

This happened when when I was sliding the loop thing to hold down the strap. Forgive my terminology

I don't have a scale accurate enough to measure but I would expect the strap is heavier. However, it's too small for me to tell on the wrist. Thicker and better made, definitely. Heavier, probably, but not enough for me to notice.

Interestingly, Apple no longer lists the band weights on the website. We do know that the old Classic Buckle in 38mm and 42mm is 16 g and 19 g, respectively.

Holding the two side by side I can't really tell the difference. In fact the older classic buckle feels a tiny bit heavier to me. But without a good scale there is no way to tell.

Does anyone else think these bands look a bit cheap? I am hoping apple will release some nice hand-stitched leather bands like the Hermes.

Already did. It's called Apple Watch Hermes.
I would purchase one but I am not near New York, Miami, LA, or San Francisco. I don't feel like paying a $600 markup on eBay either. I hope they eventually release the bands separately.
