So this probably sounds like the inverse of a problem lots of people might have, but I was wondering if there was any way to wake my MacBook from network access without it actually fully waking up/ enabling the display output?

This is because I use my Mac closed with an external display, but sometimes I would like to access it from another device in the room, to get to videos on my hard drive etc, but I'd rather not have the main display light up brightly in the middle of the night and then have to get up to turn the monitor off/sleep the machine again...!

Anybody know if there's like a 'low power mode' that can be used to access the machine as if it were a NAS but without enabling any of the other features like audio/video output?
