I don't think it'll take too long before we see people offering RAM upgrades. Apple uses (pretty much) generic boards, so every good RAM retailer should have the stuff in stock. I think the 15" and the 17" use the same RAM, and that's already on Crucial.
By the way, I too bought a new PowerBook this morning->
15.2" AlBook>>
1.25 GHz G4
512 MB RAM (1-SODIMM... Planning to get this puppie up to 1 GB after I take delivery, and maybe 2 GB when I have the cash)
80 GB HD @ 4200 RPM (Figured it wouldn't suck as much battery power as the 5400 RPM one)
2x SuperDrive
AirPort Extreme
Backlit Keyboard
On top of that ->
10 GB iPod
Crappy $100 HP Printer
Yeah, I'm a student. Overall it came to $2,751 for me, then take away the $300 for the rebate, so I'm only paying $2,451... Pretty decent. I was thinking about going for LapZilla, but figured that it'd suck in class (since I want to take notes). The extra 80 MHz isn't going to make much of a difference. I can still store a lot of porn
